We’re happy to introduce you to our team of dedicated professionals! These are the people who ensure that our magazines are edited, designed and published, that our newsletters are compiled and distributed, and that our websites are kept up to date. They are the ones who can help you to plan a successful advertising campaign, using our various media channels such as GIM International, Hydro International or Geo-matching.com, to ensure that you achieve your marketing objectives. They are the ones who arrange our presence at trade shows and conferences all over the globe. In other words: they are Geomares Publishing!
Durk Haarsma | Publishing director
Durk Haarsma is publishing director of Geomares Publishing. He was publisher at Reed Business Geo for almost five years before Geomares Publishing was formed by a management buy-out on 1 October 2009. Prior to that, he worked for almost ten years as an editor and journalist for various management magazines, as well as a radio reporter on a daily news programme.
Meine van der Bijl | Financial director
Meine van der Bijl is financial director at Geomares Publishing. Prior to the management buy-out, he had been working since 1999 as financial controller at Reed Business Geo with responsibility for titles including GIM International and Hydro International. Before joining Reed Business Geo, he worked in the accounting control departments of several companies.
Wim van Wegen | Content Manager GIM International
Wim van Wegen is the Content Manager of GIM International. He is responsible for the content of the magazine, the website and the newsletter of one of world’s leading geomatics publications. In his role he manages and allocates assignments to the editors, writers and journalists. He was instrumental in the successful launch of the annual UAS Special in 2013 and of the Spanish-language version of the GIM International in 2014. In his continual search for the latest industry developments to share with GIM International’s highly valued readership, Wim van Wegen frequently attends relevant congresses and trade shows.
Joost Boers | Content Manager Hydro International and Products4Engineers.nl
Joost Boers initially joined the Geomares Publishing team in the position of Content Manager of Hydro International and Products4Engineers.nl. He is very familiar with aspects of the online publishing world and is always open to developing new skills. Joost’s affiliation with the daily work of the hydrographic profession is also emphasised by his membership of the council of the Hydrographic Society Benelux since 2008. In 2012, he was involved in organising the Hydro12 conference which was held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Sybout Wijma | Key Account Manager GIM International and Hydro International
Sybout Wijma joined the Geomares Publishing team in May 2013, straight after completing his Bachelor of Commerce. With a special interest in sales and marketing, he is eager to contribute to the further success of GIM International and Hydro International. As a result of living abroad in the USA for a year and travelling the globe for both business and pleasure, he has gained valuable intercultural experience.
Herma Lenten | Marketing & Sales Manager Geo-matching.com and Products4Engineers.nl
Herma Lenten joined the team in January 2012. Herma holds a bachelor’s degree in European Studies and has spent many years living in various European countries. Since graduating in 2006, she has worked in several commercial roles in the tourism and publishing sectors. She believes that her integrity and intercultural experience combined with her commitment to providing excellent customer service will enable her to build strong and sustainable relationships with all companies – large and small.
Peter Tapken | Content manager Geo-matching.com
Peter Tapken joined the Geomares Publishing team in July 2014 as content manager for Geo-matching.com, the comparison website for geomatics and hydrographic devices. Peter holds a master’s degree in marketing management and has extensive experience of working in an international environment. He manages both the Geo-matching.com content and the community, initiating and co-ordinating further development, and is also responsible for promoting the website. He regards Geo-matching.com, which is derived from the popular product surveys for GIM International and Hydro International, as a unique and exciting online platform and is keen to help this initiative achieve its full potential.
Trea Fledderus | Marketing assistant
Trea Fledderus has been working for Geomares Publishing since 1997, initially as editorial assistant of GIM International and then later also responsible for the first years of the magazine's BPA certification. She now works as marketing assistant which includes responsibility for organising presence at conferences and exhibitions and a range of other marketing activities, such as promoting the book The Electronic Chart.
Erik Wielink | Contentmanager Products4Engineers.nl
Erik Wielink joined the Geomares Publishing team in May 2015 as online marketer for both gim-international.com and hydro-international.com, responsible for the development and growth of both websites. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce. After graduating he first worked as e-commerce manager for Slimkopen.nl. Erik became content manager for products4engineers.nl upon its acquisition by Geomares Publishing in February 2016 and is now responsible for the content, development and marketing of this online product database.
Myrthe van der Schuit | Account Manager
Myrthe van der Schuit joined the Geomares Publishing team in November 2015 as marketing and sales assistant after graduating from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. During her studies she worked as a marketing and communication assistant for an IT company. Since 2017 she is account manager for the publications of Geomares Publishing and for the webshop of Geomares Education.
Geart van Assen | Online Marketer GIM International & Hydro International
Geart van Assen joined the Geomares Publishing team in April 2015 as the online marketer for GIM International and Hydro International. He is responsible for search engine marketing (SEM), social media and the overall growth of the websites. He has a bachelor’s degree in communication and has previously worked as an online marketer for Sterc, an internet & marketing company.
Marc NĂĽhn | Sales Products4Engineers.nl
Started his career at VUGA Publishing (acquired by Reed Business Media) as a media consultant. Other employers were renowned publishers as Wegener, Reader's Digest, Reed Business Media and EnergieMedia. Has sales experience in print, online and events.
